Featuring soprano Cassandra Douglas, mezzo-soprano Emily Hughes, tenor Jackson Schroeder, and pianist Alla Milchtein, with Maestro Jason Tramm as emcee, the program includes music by Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Gershwin, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Cole Porter, and more.

Cassandra Douglas

Soprano

Raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Brooklyn-born soprano Cassandra Douglas has performed with opera companies and choirs nationally and internationally. Her roles include Musetta in La Bohème, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni.

Emily Hughes

Mezzo-soprano

Emily Hughes’s performances include Flora in La Traviata at Oper Kiel, the title role in La Cenerentola with Salt Marsh Opera, and Smeton in Anna Bolena with Winter Opera St. Louis. Her work spans opera, concert repertoire, and musical theatre.

Jackson Emmett Schroeder

Tenor

Atlanta-born tenor Jackson Emmett Schroeder studied at Boston Conservatory at Berklee and earned his Master of Music at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music. He has worked with Sarasota Opera and performs with the Metropolitan Opera Chorus.

Jackson Emmett Schroeder studied at Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music before earning his Master of Music at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University. Schroeder was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jackson has performed as Pirelli in Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd at Lowell House Opera at Harvard University, was featured as a soloist at Boston Symphony Hall in Adolphus Hailstork’s Crispus Attucks, and earned his first lead role in Montreal, Quebec, as the Witch in Hänsel und Gretel. He completed an intensive summer program at the Franz Schubert Institute in Baden, Austria, deeply influencing his thesis-level recital at McGill.

Schroeder has performed with Sarasota Opera, covering the roles of Peppe in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci and Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte. Jackson currently studies with Kevin Short and performs with the Metropolitan Opera Chorus.

Piano

Collaborative pianist Alla Milchtein performs with singers, instrumentalists, and chamber ensembles. Born in Russia and raised in Mexico, she has appeared at festivals across Europe, Mexico, and the United States, including Aspen and Glimmerglass.
